Green Bay Convoy of Hope

Green Bay Convoy of Hope is a one day, compassion event with the purpose of helping those in need in the Greater Green Bay area. We partner with Convoy of Hope International to achieve this by providing haircuts, health services information, community services information, a kids zone play area, hot meals and bagged groceries. And with the help and support of local businesses, civic organizations and churches we are able to provide all this for FREE. It’s a great day to simply enjoy life and receive hope. If you are interested in attending our next event on Saturday, August 16, 2008, you can find all the information you need right here on this website. If you are a local business, civic organization or church please feel free to look at our sponsor and church pages for more information about our current needs and how you can partner with us for the 2008 event.

Convoy of Hope mobilizes, resources, and trains churches and other groups to conduct community outreaches, respond to disasters, and direct other compassion initiatives in the United States and around the world. Convoy of Hope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves in the United States and around the world providing disaster relief, building supply lines and sponsoring outreaches to the poor and hurting in communities. During a COH outreach, free groceries are distributed, job and health fairs are organized and activities for children are provided. Although Convoy of Hope is an international organization, Green Bay Convoy of Hope is a local event. It is locally funded, organized and accomplished by various organizations throughout the Green Bay area. We need your help to see this event take place. Please consider how you, your family, or your organization can be a part of this life-changing event in Green Bay!

Letter from the Mayor of Green Bay

Dear Pastor Cox,

On behalf of the citizens of Green Bay, I wanted to write you a quick note to thank you for all your efforts in bringing the Convoy of Hope to Green Bay this past September. You and your fellow organizers deserve much praise for such thorough planning; rarely do similar-size events coordinate so well with city services. There is a strong positive buzz in our community about the good works yielded and lives touched by last year’s event. From groceries to haircuts, it was great to see so many important services provided to individuals and families who needed them. The Green Bay Convoy of Hope tapped into the strength of our area’s faith community, and, as you saw, there were plenty of churches, businesses and other organizations and individuals eager to volunteer their time, talent and treasure in partnership with you.

Under your leadership, Leicht Park became an inspirational heart of giving and compassion for thousands of needy area residents, and I am proud to welcome your event back in August. Once again, thank you for all of your efforts to build a brighter Green Bay.

Sincerely,

Jim Schmitt
Mayor
